Workers' Compensation - Important Updates, Payment Transition Calendar, and More!

Spring is officially here! With warmer weather, increased sales activity, and sunshine, it's also time to think about Workers' Comp. As you know, CareWorks Consultants Inc. (CCI) is OADA's endorsed TPA (third party administrator) for the OADA sponsored Workers' Comp Group. They are excited to announce that they have a new name - CareWorksComp. We also wanted to take this opportunity to convey a few important reminders.

The switch to Prospective Billing is happening soon!

According to the Ohio BWC this switch to a prospective billing system will provide the following benefits:

• Overall base rate reduction of 2 percent for private employers and 4 percent for public employers;
• Opportunities for more flexible payment options (up to 12 installments);
• Increased ability for the BWC to detect employer non-compliance and fraud.

• March 3, 2015 - Premiums were due for the payroll period 7/1/14-12/31/14!
• March 31, 2015 - Drug Free Safety Program "Annual Report" deadline for the 7/1/14 program start date.
• March 31, 2015 - Deadline for Experience Modifier Cap program (EM CAP) training requirements

Two Hour Group Safety Training Requirement

Any private employer enrolled in a group rating or group retro program for the 2014 policy year that had any claims occur in 2013, is required by the BWC to complete two hours of safety training by June 30, 2015. The OADA seminars will fulfill this training requirement. If you are unsure if your dealership is required to complete training, contact DeAnna at OADA, 614-923-2231 or dzahniser@oada.com.
