Dealer Grassroots with Legislators – Why is it Important?

OADA recently facilitated a meeting with the Voss Auto Network in Dayton and State Representative Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) to discuss issues important to our industry, including a State of Ohio program that reimburses employers for a percentage of eligible employee training costs.  Even though this program has a dedicated automotive sector, the parameters of the program exclude retailers.  We emphasized to Representative Antani the significant resources dealers dedicate to service technician training, the demand dealers across the state have for technicians, and the quality pay of these positions.  In response, Rep. Antani introduced House Bill 429, which would make dealers and other employers of service technicians eligible.
