Dealer Plates

Can an employee or family member of a dealer be cited for driving a vehicle with a dealer plate for non-business purposes or personal use?

No.  §4503.30 of the Ohio Revised Code provides broad authority for dealers to give permission to third parties to use vehicles bearing dealer plates. §4503 provides that a vehicle bearing a dealer plate may be operated by the dealer, an agent or employee of the dealer, a prospective purchaser or a third party operating the vehicle with the permission of the dealer.
