Clyde
Cole Jr. ‘‘Skip,’’ 75 years old, of Warren, died
suddenly of a massive heart attack on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006,
at noon at his summer home at Sandy Lake.
He
was born
April 3, 1931
, in Warren, the son of the late Clyde and Bess Koehler Cole
Sr.
He was a 1949 graduate of
Warren
G.
Harding
High School
and a 1953 graduate of
Colgate
University
. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Cole was on the Board of Directors of Trumbull Memorial
Hospital for 15 years; past president and member of the
Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio; past president
and member of the
Trumbull
100 since its inception. He was instrumental with the Westlawn
project in
Warren
and headed up the Hanging Flower Basket Project in downtown
Warren
. He was a former member of the Trumbull Country Club and a
member of the Buckeye Club. He was presently working with the
Warren Grows project for the revitalization of downtown
Warren
. He was an avid enthusiast for golf, tennis, skiing,
volleyball, sailing, traveling and
Sandy
Lake
.
Mr. Cole worked at Downtown Motors from 1953-66; and was
president of Clyde Cole Cadillac on East Market Street in
Warren from 1966-92; Clyde Cole Cadillac merged with Valley
Pontiac, which became Cole Valley on Elm Road from 1992 until
he retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Perschbacher, whom
he married June 15, 1957; four sons, David and Marilee Cole
and their children, Christopher, Jonathan of Benjamin of
Warren; Scott and Valerie Cole and their children, Joshua and
Lauren of Carrollton; Tom and Paula Cole and their children,
Tyler and Ellie of Warren; and Robert and Carissa Cole and
their children, Gabrielle and Isabelle of Boardman.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his two
brothers, Jack and James Cole.
Funeral services will be

Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006
, at Believers Christian Fellowship, with the Rev. Ed Smelser
officiating. Friends may visit from
5
to
8 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006
, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home and also one hour prior to
the services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow
at
North
Jackson
Cemetery
.
