On
October 26, the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association (OADA) in
conjunction with the National Automobile Dealers Charitable
Foundation (NADCF) presented a Resusci Anne Complete CPR
Manikin, valued at $1,200 to
C-Tec
Technical
School
in
Newark
.
In
receiving the donation, which is essential for cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) training, Mark Dixon, EMT
Coordinator said, “If the right kind of treatment can
be given to a victim in distress within seconds of being
stricken, the chances are good that the life can be saved.”
Common situations that require CPR are often related to
an airway loss that leads to respiratory or cardiac arrest.
Conditions are severe asthma, seizures and a variety of
respiratory conditions and other types of traumatic conditions
like head injury, choking and near-drowning situations.

“Since
there is increasing involvement of Americans who are being
trained in CPR, there has been a noticeable increase in
survivors,” Mr. Dixon said.
“Many cases prove the training received has helped
many victims who otherwise would have died, but instead these
victims have been saved and have returned to normal
activities.”
John
Hinderer of John Hinderer Honda in Heath made the presentation
to Mr. Dixon. Hinderer
said “It is important to give back to the community in which
you are fortunate enough to make your living.
This is one way that actually reaches many, to
accomplish that.”
In
2006, other CPR donations across Ohio include: American Red
Cross of Delaware County in Delaware, Coshocton
City Schools in Coshocton, Firelands Regional Medical Center
in Sandusky, LifeTeam EMS in East Liverpool, YMCA Camp Willson

Cross of Marion in Marion.

external defibrillator (AED) training units worth over $2
million to civic and safety organizations since the Foundation
was established in 1975.
Approximately 1.9 million people have been trained on
the units donated by NADCF.
