Partial Rescission of Stay Safe Ohio Order...

Ohio Department of Health Issues Order Rescinding & Modifying Portions of the Stay Safe Ohio Order, and Urgent Health Advisory

On May 20th, the Governor's Office issued a partial rescission of the April 30th Stay Safe Ohio Order and issued an Ohioans Protecting Ohioans Urgent Health Advisory.

The Partial Rescission affects three portions of the April 30th Order:

  • Section 3:  Stay at Home or Place of Residence
  • Section 5:  Prohibited and Permitted Travel
  • Section 15:  Travel

Significantly for businesses operating in the state, the Partial Rescission does not affect portions of the April 30th Order which require face masks for employees, social distancing, hand sanitizer, and practices related to cleaning high-touch areas. The Ohioans Protecting Ohioans Urgent Health Advisory continues to recommend that Ohioans stay home as much as possible. It also:

  • Mandates limiting of large groups
  • Requires safe business conditions
  • Urges the elderly and vulnerable populations to stay in their residences as much as possible, although this is not required.
  • Advises Ohioans who are not high-risk to take precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 through responsible behavior and recommends those individuals stay at home when possible.
